Statement
My artistic practice revolves around interconnectedness, connections, and their interactions—within both the deeply human and the universal context. How do the evidently profound affinities between all forms of existence manifest themselves? How can universal interconnectedness be portrayed artistically? How can “universal symphonies” be captured in a painting, an object, or an installation? How can the shared vibrations of the material and the immaterial be represented?
Nature and my highly sensitive perception are the basis and source of inspiration for finding expressions for the inexpressible. By observing, viewing, studying, and above all sensing natural phenomena, I encounter fascinating parallels and similarities, and this constantly confirms my certainty that everything is energy, vibration, and frequency.
In playfully inventing ways to transform the discovered patterns and commonalities and place them in a larger context, I attempt to relativize concepts such as abstract and concrete, this-worldly and the otherworldly, near and far.
Stone deserves special mention, as he repeatedly captures my attention as a muse. With its serene earthiness it forms the perfect counterpart to my own airiness, so we keep each other on balance. It is simultaneously a symbol for all that is precious in life as it serves (my artistic exploration) as a metaphor for transformation.
In its simplicity and at the same time astonishing complexity, stone offers an inexhaustible field for beauty, inspiration and surprises.
